Ashley grew up in Blowing Rock, North Carolina and received her Bachelors in Biology from Virginia Tech. She is an Associate Director in Research and Development at GlaxoSmithKline, where she has worked for over 19 years. Throughout the years, she served several volunteer organizations including Junior League of Charlotte, Wine to Water and held an East Coast board position on Project Scientist.  Ashley met Brick in 1995 while running the halls of the dorms at ASU.  They remained friends and when she met her future husband, Clay, years later she found he was also friends with Brick.  Soon after Brick began dating Laura and the couples went on many adventures together all over the state.

When Ashley’s second child Bubby was born in 2008 one of the first friends he was introduced to was Bryant.  They were thick as thieves and thrilled to be at Selwyn Elementary together for many years.  Their favorite things to do together were play tackle football in the front yard of Bryant’s house, listen to somewhat inappropriate rap music, attempt new waterslides and roller coasters at Carowinds and have epic sleepovers with their brothers, Simmons and Grey included. The funniest memory made with Bryant was when he tried to bake cookies in the microwave. The Halls are living out Bryant’s legacy by being open to making new friends in any situation they are in and of-course, baking cookies in the microwave.
